Inspiration for the program comes from an American book “Lean in” by Sheryl Sandberg, a Facebook executive. The book inspired a dynamic debate all over the world about barriers for female leadership careers in business environment dominated by men (mostly in the field of High-tech industry). One of the answers to the difficult situation of women in this area is encouragement to mutual support by women and creating a culture of female networking and mentoring
The comprehensive project offering several solutions supporting creation of a female networking culture in the technological industry and the STEM area. The objective of the project is promotion of technical and scientific education and career in the technological industry and other STEM-related areas among young women.
The project comprises 6 interconnected elements. These are:
- Mentoring Program “Lean in High Tech”
- Virtual Meetings “Inspiration Academy Girls go STEM!”
- “Lean in STEM Technological Teatime” - “offline” meetings in technological companies
- Conference “Lean in STEM”
- Internet networking platforms: leaninstem.pl and Active Circle – “Lean in STEM POLAND”
Partners of Project are: US Embassy in Poland, Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission, Ministry of Administration and Digitization (Poland).
Technology Partners: Bosch, Cisco, Intel, P&G, SAP, Siemens.

Perspektywy Education Foundation
Non-profit organization active since 1998 in the field of science, education, equal opportunities and promotion of the STEM area. Its main purpose is to support the development of the potential of young people and of higher education in Poland and internationally. The Foundation's activities are focused on building the academic quality and the promotion of Polish universities abroad. The Foundation supports internationalization trough the "Study in Poland" program.
Projects promoting participation of women in the STEM education is the main specialization of the Perspektywy Education Foundation ("Girls as Engineers” and “Girls go Science!” Campaigns). The Foundation together with the global company Siemens conduct survey „Women’s potential for the technological industry. Choice of educational path, expectations, aspirations and market reality”.
